Celebration of Christmas 2016

This picture will be be up to date. I took the kids to see the Celebration of Christmas that we see every year at a big church. This year, Hannah knew 7 performers in the show-all from MoezArt (either current or past cast mates or choreographers). Except for the rude people on cell phones or talking, it was fantastic. Not sure why you go to a show of any sort & not actually watch/listen to it.
This church also puts on a summer musical every year too. The program showed next year's musical will be The Little Mermaid! Hannah wants to audition but the competition is pretty stiff so if she doesn't get in, we'll go see it. I guess it's the year of the mermaid because another theater in Mesa is doing it next year too.

TBQ Meet #2 And A Family Affair shows #3 & #4

So after a busy tech week & the first two shows on Thursday & Friday, God's Girlz had their 2nd meet of the season on Saturday morning. This was followed up by a 2pm matinee show & a 7pm show. Phew! Anyway, the girls won 3 rounds & lost one. After the meet, I took Hannah to her call time to re-curl her hair while the boys went home-they'd come up to the last show later.

The picture above is of Hannah with her stage sisters.
Life's good when friends who have moved on to college come back to support you:)

I was late posting these pics because after that busy week, I was the one to get sick. I'm feeling better today & getting around to these. Next show stop, The Little Mermaid.

A Family Affair ~ night #2

Hannah had a smaller role in two of the shows & a bigger role in the other two. That explains the different costumes depending on the night.Todd only went to the last show which explains why he's not in pictures yet. He only wants to see his little girl perform but her bigger role on a Thursday night would make him be up later than he'd like so he just went to the last show. I should also mention that this is Hannah's first show with contacts so she could see on stage & back stage, finally!!

Thanksgiving & A Family Affair (opening night)

The picture above helped me win a contest for a free Shutterfly photo book which will be used to make Hannah's Bye Bye Birdie scrapbook. Best use of red & green possible, I think.

The pictures below are from the opening night of A Family Affair.
A former cast-mate from Oliver came out to see the show.

Opening night was terrific for A Family Affair.
This is a comedy set in Russia. A widowed Princess Catherine is desperate to find a suitable wife for her son, Slava, who is a bit picky & is not fond of arranged marriage (think a male version of Jasmine). Worse yet is Slava's three sisters who make a mission of scaring away every eligible noble lady to be invited to the palace. Hannah was one of those scheming sisters-Yelena.  The story is filled with false rumors from the nosy servants. It also includes a shifty nephew of Princess Catherine, Anton (a flirt with roaming eye AND a fiancee), who the princess does not want to see as an heir to their throne should her son never marry & have children. Her last hope is a far distant relative of one of the servants-a baroness form Germany. A rather homely baroness. Spoiler: despite the problems that arise because of everyone's meddling, the two do fall in love.

More pics from nights 2,3, & 4 coming up.
