Joshua's 12th birthday

With his store bought cake so we had something on his b-day.
The kids supporting my Hawks-such good kids!
At Texas Roadhouse per Joshua's choice.
 With his 2nd homemade cake.
At Peter Piper Pizza.

Joshua chose to hang out with his best friend instead of a party at home with more friends. His choice was to go to Peter Piper Pizza & see the Avengers movie (again) with him. Sisters tagged along too. He didn't want to go out to eat ON his actual b-day and waited till the next day when Texas Roadhouse has their early bird specials. He wanted an adult steak!

Hannah auditioned for Honk and was cast as a froglet in the Warts & All scene/song. She'll also be some sort of poultry in the chorus for at least one other song. She'll find out more at the first rehearsal tomorrow night. By mid-July the shows will start & she'll be performing at least 9 times. If you add in when she did Honk! Jr. in Surprise & Select Cast then she'll have done this show 16 times! She's thrilled and she only misses one practice during Nationals week.

June will be filled with rehearsals for her & we'll try to get some swim time in with friends. The next major picture batch will be Nationals!!! Go God's Girlz!

Downtown Disney & Knott's Berry Farm Marketplace

 Lunch at Jazz Kitchen Express

Hannah bought the Mickey & Olaf cake pops.
The big cookie Joshua & I shared.
 Outside the Lego Store
 Playing at the ESPN Zone

Photo op areas in the bathroom area at Knott's.

The last couple pictures are out of order & I don't know how to fix them. The kids are eating beignets in the one just above Hannah playing air hockey.

After a super long day Saturday for TBQ that started with me getting up at 3:30 & waking others up to get going, arriving in CA,lunch,Regionals, beach, & Cold Stone, we were exhausted but we weren't quite ready to go home on Sunday.

Sunday morning we had breakfast, the boys went to use the pool & hot tub when it opened at 9am while Hannah & I got ready. After we checked out we made it to Downtown Disney around 11am to eat & shop. And to look longingly at our happy place that we couldn't afford.

We made the best of it. We ate at Jazz Kitchen Express. Hannah wanted to actually buy something in Marceline's Confectionery. We've been in there many times but never splurged on their cute & expensive desserts. Hannah chose a Mickey cake pop in red velvet which meant none of us wanted just a little bite! She also got a chocolate Olaf cake pop. I shared a huge Mickey chocolate chip cookie with Joshua.

We made our way to the World of Disney Store. It's huge & we expected to be there awhile because Hannah is a detailed shopper! She takes her time in deciding. Usually when we go for a long visit, we take a look at what she might want to buy. Then she thinks about it for a few days & we go back at the end of our trip to buy. We didn't have that luxury! She had to make decisions within an hour:)
It turns out that the pin she was hoping to buy (a 60th anniversary pin) hasn't been released yet. So she settled for a World of Color pin. She also bought Joshua an Avengers pin for his birthday.

The kids also went in on buying me a belated birthday gift-a puzzle of the Disneyland map and a new antenna ball (Sorcerer Mickey). Joshua bought another pin and one of those fancy art "letters" from the kiosk outside the store. Hannah had one made a few years ago with the "H" in her name as Tinkerbell & Aurora. Joshua had the "J" be made with Olaf. It's the same technique we have on the "Smith" one in the living room.

After the shopping we made another stop at Jazz Kitchen Express for the beignets. The other desserts we bought were for later on the ride home & Monday.

The kids wanted to stop at the gift shop at Knott's to see if there was any new Snoopy merchandise since we were there after Regionals last year. There wasn't anything they just had to have so we left there to eat at Shakeys before heading home. We got home around 11pm.
Since Todd took Monday off, he wanted to see the Avengers movie so we all obliged by going with him:)

That's it for pictures for now. I guess the next event will be Joshua's birthday-big #12!
Hannah is auditioning for Honk! in a couple weeks. Moezart is performing it for community theater this summer which is usually 18+ but they might be able to use younger ages in the chorus. She's always said she wanted to do that one again. It's one of my favorites too. That's about it for May.

Huntington Beach

 God's Girlz

Collecting shells. We got a couple handfuls of pretty ones to add to our huge collection.
The girls after the beach at a mall area where we ended the busy day at Cold Stone. Yum!

Here are the beach pictures. After quizzing we grabbed dinner at Chick-Fil-A and headed to the beach to hang out with the other teams. We had a little day light left & it was a little cool.

God's Girlz takes 1st place at Regionals 2015!!!!!!

 Before quizzing started.
Hannah & Todd sneaking into her picture.

Hannah took 4thplace in individual points & her team mate took 3rd.
God's Girlz and their 1st place plaque.

Well, the title says most of the story. It was actually a very close meet with all 3 Arizona teams tied for 1st place. The tie breaker is by team points and as you can figure out, God's Girlz had more points.
We were happy when Regionals got moved to southern California (Costa Mesa) from CO. It saved us time & money. Because quizzing was scheduled for 1pm on Saturday, we woke up super early & drove over the morning of the competition. Then we only stayed one night which was free off Best Western gift cards we won.

After quizzing, we went to Huntington Beach with the other teams & after that we went to Cold Stone with Hannah's team mates. Then we crashed at the hotel after our day. We planned on spending Sunday at Downtown Disney for lunch & shopping and a stop at the Knott's Berry Farm Marketplace for a little browsing in their Snoopy store. After a dinner at Shakeys, we headed home around 6pm. We got in around 11pm. Todd took Monday off so we went to see the Avengers movie. Then we started a Disneyland puzzle the kids bought me as a belated birthday present.

So I'll post beach,Downtown Disney, & Knott's pictures soon.

Joshua's birthday is coming up and instead of a party, he has decided to have a day with his best friend. He wants to go to Peter Piper Pizza & to see the Avengers again. I'm going to attempt a Captain America themed cake. We haven't picked a day yet but sometime before kids get out of school. We'll also schedule a JBQ reunion party once the pool water is a bit warmer.

Stardust Nights 2 & 3

"Ma Fletcher" and flowers from Grandma & Papa.

 With cast mates.

Um, I can't figure out how I made this picture go to the right or put it back. I know you can deal with it:) I had Hannah change into other costumes she had so there were 3 different dresses in the pictures even though none of them were very pretty-those are the problems you have when cast as a country "Ma", I suppose.

Somehow I got this picture out of order.

Here are the last shots from Stardust. I expect to buy the media that will have action shots but that may take 2-3 months.

Next up-TBQ Regionals......
