Compass Kidz JBQ Meet #2

The boys before their first match.
The boys at the end of the day.

Lunch at Culvers before heading home.
Joshua's team, Compass Kidz, had their 2nd meet of the season in Tucson this past Saturday. With a 2 hour drive to get there by 8:45, we had quite an early start. They got 7 matches in. They won 3 & lost 4. This was not bad considering they only had a few practices since their 1st meet. One of his team mates had a hip surgery in November & December was busy with Hannah's play (and Christmas, then New Years). Not much got done. The boys know their stuff but are still in need of being faster on the buzzer. Some of their competition has been doing this for almost their whole lives! I think they're holding their own in the A league. Also, one of those matches came down to the last question so we were so close to being 4/3.

Here' s the stats:
1st round-loss- 200-75
2nd round-win-175-85
3rd round-win-115-105
4th round-loss-180-150 (this is the one we could have pushed to OT if we got the last question).
5th round-win-16-30
6th round-loss-195-100
7th round-loss-240-75

The 3rd JBQ meet is in February along with the 4th TBQ meet.

I wanted to share a picture & guess from a recent Telestrations round. Telestrations is a bit of a cross between Telephone & Pictionary. You have to draw your picture & pass it on tho the next person who then has to guess what you drew. Then the guess gets passed to the next person who tries to draw that guess and so on. The more people you have the more humorous it gets. We do pretty well having an artist in the game but Joshua's guesses usually throw things off. Also, each sketch book being passed around is of a different word/clue. After the round is over, you end up with your sketch book & you see how horribly wrong it went. Fun!

So I loved Hannah's attention to detail & extra imagination on Todd's picture of the word "Goose". It was a very good goose, of course, but check out her guess.

TBQ Meet #3

God's Girlz had their 3rd meet of the season this weekend. They won 6 matches & only lost one match. Woo hoo!! They are now 16 & 3 and in first place (at the moment). Their last meet is next month for regular meets. State is in March.

For meet #3, Hannah and a team mate tied for 4th place in individual points with 635 points each. For comparison, #1-3 had 830,810, & 750 points. She is also in 4th place over the season in individual points. Yay!

Christmas 2014

Our Happy Birthday Jesus Christmas morning breakfast. Yum!
 With Grandma & Papa
 With Grandma,Papa, and cousins.

Here are a few pictures from Christmas. There's nothing too exciting planned except for Bible Quiz meets over the next 2 weeks. There will be 2 more meets in February before we move on to State.

Hannah is looking forward to theater starting back up again next week.

All the World's a Stage

The kids with their state fair ribbons. Lots of 1st place there!

Here's some pictures from after Hannah's latest stage show, "All the World's a Stage". It was snippets of Shakespeare. I'm not a fan of Shakespeare but the kids did a great job as usual. I'll have shots from the show as soon as I get the cd of pictures.

TBQ Meet #2

God's Girlz had their 2nd meet on December. Sorry for taking so long to post it. The girls had 6 wins & 1 loss that day. They are now 10 & 2 and have their 3rd meet this Saturday. Hannah was 4th in individual points. Hannah has all of Romans memorized & is working on James.

Joshua has his 3rd meet the weekend after her meet.
