Out of Africa

Catching dinner!

Tiger Splash Show

Us and the lioness.

The kids with a couple cats.

Joshua refused to even go in this area. I'm taking the picture from the other side of the little fence that "protected" us:)

Hannah and a bearded dragon.

On the Safari where we saw lots of animals.

Hannah feeding "Pilgrim" the giraffe.

Here are the pictures from Out of Africa. We had a lot of fun seeing a bunch of animals I can't pronounce or remember the names of along with giraffes, lions, tigers, bears, leopards, zebras, ostriches, snakes, birds, lemurs, hyenas, and a camel. I'm probably forgetting a few more but you get the idea.

The highlight was feeding the giraffe a carrot because that has always been Joshua's favorite animal. He even bought a stuffed giraffe there and named it Pilgrim after the giraffe he fed. The Tiger Splash show was fun to watch too. We also got to see the animals get fed which you usually don't see at a regular zoo.
The hyenas were especially fond of Joshua. No matter where he went along their pen one of them ran after him and stopped to watch him when he stopped. If Joshua hid behind Todd then the hyena would strain his neck to try to see him. It was amusing but I was happy for that fencing! He was probaly the right size for a meal.

The day after that my Mom came for a couple days. That ended our "Spring Break" week. We got back to school this week. Joshua was sick Tuesday, felt better Wednesday, sick again Thursday, and now acting fine again today.

Things we're looking forward to in March are (off the top of my head): Luke Days,Father/Daughter Dance,Art & Poetry Fair, Hoedown at the White Tanks, and St. Patrick's Day Party. Not in that order:)

Challenger Space Center

We went to the Challenger Space Center with HEofS on Tuesday. It had been a while since we'd been there. Our tour guide spent a little too much time in certain areas so we broke off from the group as I can only imagine how hard it was for the kids to pay attention when the adults were getting restless. I got a few good pictures.

Yesterday we went to Out of Africa so more pictures will be coming later.

Happy Valentines Day

The kids with their valentines from today's party.
Happy Valentines Day!

Today was our Valentines party with HEofS at the park. I was on the party committee so we were there early to help set up. The kids helped me and another friend set up about 130 bags for kids from ages 2-17. And that doesn't even reflect the total number of kids in our group! Phew. Fun times with cards and goodies. We have got such a busy week that I am declaring this week as Spring Break. I love that perk:)

We're going to the Challenger Space Center tomorrow and Out of Africa (wildlife park) on Wednesday. My Mom visits Thursday & Friday and everyone knows that it's vacation time when either Grandma visits! We're actually busy through Sunday but most of it is a "fun" busy. Most of it-not all as I still have to go to work.

If you notice, Hannah got her hair cut again.

So, on this day of "love" I hope you realize there is someone who loves you more than anything in the whole world. He loves you so much He died for you so that you could some day be with Him for eternity. He gave his life for you even if you don't love Him back. If you don't know I'm talking about Jesus then I have been a terrible example. He loves you & so do I:o)

Football Medals

Joshua IS holding onto that ball with both hands as he's been taught by Daddy. That arm sticking out is his teammate blocking for him.

Another run.

Hannah did catch this ball.

With their silver medals.

Football is finally over! They each got silver medals. I think they and their teams deserved gold since the teams they played were stacked but oh well:) Life lessons learned. There's less manipulation in hockey so they have a better shot at gold when hockey season starts in May. That's about all I want to say about it.

Snoopy Again

Don't worry-she's supposed to look worried here:)

Finally! The Cd of pictures I ordered from Hannah's Snoopy performance finally came in. So did the DVD. Well, the DVD "case" came in but the DVD was missing. Still waiting on that:(

Hannah got an added part in the Robin Hood play. There were 16 parts but 21 kids so they had to add some parts. She's "Constance", a lady in waiting as well as a strolling minstrel performer (I think) and a narrator.

Football was canceled last week because of "wind & cold weather". I say suck it up and play but I'm not in charge! Hopefully we can get it done this Wednesday barring any more weather concerns.

And this is for Todd for tomorrow: Go Steelers!
