San Diego/Coronado Island

View from our room (used only a little zoom to cut out the edge of the parking lot).
View from the Navy Base side of the island to that pricey Hotel Del Coronado side of the island.

View of our hotel from the beach. We were in the 2 story building on the left. The building on the right is the newer part.

Joshua being brave in the pool. Cold!!

On the rooftop terrace.

Here's the last batch of vacation pictures. Our last stop on the way home from San Jose/Regionals was Coronado Island. We stayed at the Navy Lodge on Base. We love that place. As you can see it's uncrowded and beautiful. The $86 per night (no tax) price tag is pretty amazing for any beach.

It was windy and cool for the first afternoon/evening & parts of our full day there. Not that I'm complaining about the cold. We never broke out the boogie boards but we did walk the beach several times. The wind makes for bad hair days though. We didn't find nearly as many sand dollars as a few years ago. We only found a handful of tiny ones & they were partially broken in the center. We still found lots of shells.

The Navy Lodge added a huge new building since our last visit. They offered a breakfast now too. The kids enjoyed the waffle machine but they needed more than 2 for the amount of people there OR we needed to be there at 6am, I guess!

On our last day there we walked the beach again and leisurely checked out near noon & went out to lunch before our drive home. We got home around 6pm.

Hannah jumped right back into her theater schedule with a last regular practice for theater the next day and tech week this week. Her opening night is TONIGHT!!!!! I saw part of the end of the rehearsal on Wednesday. I'm sorry for those of you who can't make it! It will be amazing.  I'm sure I'll have pictures from after the shows soon. Pictures of the actual performance need to be ordered & that can take awhile. Be very patient:)
