 Some students went to Cold Stone Creamery after the last show when all the set was torn apart & the church cleaned up. They deserved some ice cream for another fANTastic show.

The 2nd & last performance was Saturday night. The kids were amazing again with another standing ovation. After the show we have to tear down the set,pack up the trailer with costumes & props & concessions, and clean up the church. Those who stay long enough to help usually go get yogurt afterwards. I don't like yogurt so I've never done that part. We're usually tired & just want to get home. But Todd & I drove separate for various reasons so I rewarded my ant/spider by giving her a little more time with friends. Cold Stone is better than yogurt so we went. They never knew what hit them with our group! The kids had fun for about an hour and then we headed home to remove the makeup & get some rest. I can't wait to see action shots when we eventually get the cd of pictures months from now. I'm hoping the spider scenes show up well  cause they were very cool. So Part 3 pics will be some time.......

Things slow down a bit with a break from TBQ & drama being over. There is a TBQ party, the drama cast party, AND we're going to see a play this Friday night. But after that we settle into our summer schedule of school 2-3 days per week with Wet-N-Wild & movie day mixed in every week.

Welcome to Ants'Hillvania! Opening night

 Your anthill tour begins with the cast poster. You can see each bio & picture placed depending on their main character. Hannah was an ant but her biggest part was a spider so she's in the spider web. You can't tell all that well from this picture but there's a worm up near the flowers,a millipede along the bottom right, a dragonfly on the left side, and the weeds on the top left. Then the ant next to the director's picture has a tiny crown on it's head because she'd be the "Queen Ant". Get it? Pretty clever & cool.

 After the show with our Suzi Spider. You can't tell exactly how cool the spider costumes were because they glowed in the dark and Hannah's not wearing her hood with extra spider eyes that also glowed but you'll just have to take my word for it. And their web glowed too.

Disneyland pictures are on hold. There's so many of those pictures & I really wanted to get these up. Ants'hillvania opened up last night to a HUGE crowd. This is a story of the prodigal son or as in our case, daughter (there's way more girls in theater than boys). There's a nice lesson about sowing seeds as well. Hannah was an ant in some scenes but she really shined, or maybe I should say "glowed", as Suzi Spider. 

There is a happy colony of worker ants, well, except for the CommandANT's daughter. She wants to be free of work,be famous, be independANT. She wants her inheritANTS now! I suppose you can imagine all the "ant" puns now. Sadly, she's given her money and off she goes to take care of #1. She gets some words of wisdom from her dad,Mr. Worm, Miss Millipede, and some flowers. The weeds make a scene too. But she still wants to get out into the big world. D.F., the dragonfly, promises her wealth & fortune along with his commission. He sends ANTabell off where she is caught in the spiders' web. Looks like she's going to be dinner! But one of the spiders makes her a deal. If Antabell can solve some riddles, they'll let her go free. One spider jokingly suggests she better say her prayers. What a great idea!! Antabell escapes after explaining the riddles and goes back to Ants'hillvania. But she thinks no one will want her back. She's truly sorry and of course the ants welcome her home.

There were some new people to theater and they did a terrific job. The audience loved it and they got a standing ovation. Next show is tomorrow.

After TBQ was all over we spent some time with the other families at the beach. Then we went for ice cream. Fun times. We checked out on a Sunday and spent that day going to Downtown Disney & playing at the ESPN Zone. We got to bed early for 4 more days of Disneyland before heading home. I need to go through and pick out my favorites before posting those pictures. I'll get to it eventually!

Hannah with her trophies from State when she competed individually. She came in 2nd in the Quoting Bee & One-on-One competitions. The AZ coordinator finally delivered them.

We are back from Regionals! Well, we've been back since Friday but I'm a slacker at the moment. Joshua got sick on Mother's Day and Hannah started tech week yesterday so this week will be crazy. I figured I better get something up. 

When we got to California for Regionals, we spent our 1st day at Disneyland. We are quite thankful for the Christmas gift of tickets from our parents to make that happen:) Delayed gratification was fun! So we had a day at our happy place before the 1st day of competition. On the 1st day, the girls had 8 rounds of quizzing and won each one. On day 2 there were only 2 rounds and they won those as well. The AZ coordinator thinks we could move up to the "A" league with the high schoolers next season so we have some competition.

After the second day of competition, we all went back to our hotels for a little rest before meeting for dinner. We went to Corona del Mar beach after dinner so those pictures are next. Then we all splurged for ice cream after the beach to top the day off.

Here's a few pictures. The 1st one is Hannah and friends at the HEofS talent show. They performed a song & dance from Ants'hillvania. The other 2 are when we did a fundraiser at Chick-Fil-A just before heading to Regionals. 

Junior God's Girlz team takes 1st at State too!

Since Hannah officiates for the Junior God's Girlz team, I thought I'd post about their amazing success too. The Junior team came in 1st at State too. Woo hoo! I'm a little jealous of that cool trophy though:) We got plaques last year but this is pretty special.

Just like last year they will automatically advance to Nationals. This year Nationals is in Texas. Also, they get to skip Regionals which helps our Teen Team because one of these girls is also on the Teen Team so we can really use her at Regionals on the Teen Team. 

Regionals is coming up fast so I expect the next time I post pictures or anything else will be when we come back. We're all pretty excited!
