Visit with Grandma & Grandpa Smith (Zoo)

 At the White Tanks (above)
 Feeding Joshua's favorite animal.

 Beautiful girl!

 Me & my boy:)
 With Grandma & Grandpa
Todd's parents visited last week. The original plan was to go to Luke Days but that got canceled. So instead, Joshua got sick:( He was sick their whole visit so we didn't do much. I stayed home with him while everyone else went on a hike in the White Tanks. This made him sad but we all went back that evening. That's what the first picture is from. There's no pictures from the morning hike because I wasn't there with my trusty camera.
Last Sunday we did go to the zoo for a few hours. He still wasn't 100% but he's feeling better now.
Sadly, yesterday Todd got sick so he couldn't got to TBQ State competition. Those pictures will be next.

Hoedown 2013

Here's some pictures from our annual Hoedown with HEofS. We spent the time as we usually do-hiking,eating,making s'mores, the kids running around with friends, etc.

God's Girlz Teen Bible Quiz Stats

The God's Girlz teen team finished up their regular season last month. The junior team finished this month. Anyway, the stats are IN! God's Girlz finished with an amazing record of 28 wins & only 3 losses. A couple of those losses were very close. Over 4 meets they accumulated 6110 points. Is that a lot, you ask? Well, yes! The 2nd place team trailed them at 3880 points.

Two girls took the top spots for individual high points. Hannah took 2nd place in points with 2165 points and her friend took 1st place with 2670 points. Yay! If you remember from last year's updates, quiz outs are a good thing. It means you answer a certain # of questions right, you get bonus points, and you leave the table and let a sub replace you for the remainder of the match. Hannah had 15 quiz outs & her friend had 19. Wow. We even had one match were 3 girls quizzed out. Impressive.

I'm so proud of all the girlz. They have worked so hard to do well in each match but more importantly, they have 11 whole chapters God's word memorized and hidden in their hearts. State competition is next and hopefully Regionals in May.

Valentine's Day Cupcake Wars Party

Joshua and the gang of girls. And two girls were sick and couldn't make it!
Hannah's cupcakes below: The Valentine's one is obvious. Her Spring one is a blue M&M flower with a nest of "marshmallow" birds eggs. Her homeschool cupcake is a comfy bed complete with marshmallow pillows & a gummy bear teddy bear, some Starburst books, and a crooked pencil. The bed represents that homeschoolers get to sleep in. Nice!
Joshua's cupcakes above. His Valentine's one is obvious as well. His Spring one has a butterfly, worms in the grass, & Swedish Fish swimming in a stream. Now I'm a little concerned as to why his homeschool cupcake is some bearded/moustache guy. ???? Hope it's not a depiction of his teacher:)

This last picture I'm adding is from the Art & Poetry Fair and Ice Cream Social. They just brought some art they entered in the state fair so I didn't post pictures since those are posted in the state fair post. Hannah also brought one of the scarves she 's been busy making AND selling. She's made over $200 in 2013 alone! Don't tell the IRS though.

On Valentine's Day we went to a friend's house for a cupcake wars party. The 3 themes of the cupcakes were Valentine's Day (of course), Spring, and homeschool. You can see some of the creations above. They had fun decorating & then worked off the cupcakes they ate by playing for hours with their friends-especially on the trampoline. They were exhausted when we got home. Good times, good times.

Snow Day 2013

At Grandma & Papa's house on Sunday.
Joshua catching snowflakes on his tongue.
 View from INSIDE.
 In Flagstaff on Monday.

We went to play in the snow a couple days ago. We went up to Strawberry on Sunday & it snowed pretty heavy there so the kids got to see snow fall for the first time. We spent the night there and headed to Flagstaff on Monday morning. It snowed lightly while we were sledding too. The pictures are self-explanatory. We got home Monday late afternoon.

The kids have a "cupcake wars" type Valentine's Day party tomorrow. That's always fun. Not too much exciting stuff is coming up. It may take a couple more months to have good pictures of anything.

 See the trend???
All of God's Girlz TBQ team & some JBQ team our for lunch after a busy quiz day.

Top pictures are of both God's Girlz teams during a JBQ meet. The bottom pics are after a TBQ meet. The Teens had an extraordinary season. At the last meet, this past Saturday, the girls went 8 & 1. Total record was 28 & 3. Hannah had 3 quiz outs during the last meet. During one match, THREE girls had quiz outs! Pretty cool. State competition is next month.

Mixed in there are pictures at the Orpheum Theater when we went to see Slim Goodbody. It's a one man show with music & visuals to teach kids about their body and healthy choices. The theater is beautiful & Hannah would love to perform there some day:)

Here's a few pictures from a TBQ match. I can't remember which one but the TBQ team just had their final meet this past Saturday-pictures from that one will be coming soon. Final regular season record ended up being 28 Wins and 3 Losses. Amazing!!!! They go to State next month. If they are one of the top 2 teams, they go to Regionals in May (in California).

Us on Christmas at my sister's house.

Wow. Sorry for not posting pictures since November! I didn't think we did anything particularly exciting so I haven't posted but I have found a few things to post now that I've gone back through the pictures. I'll start with these around Christmas & then list some JBQ/TBQ stuff before moving on to our Snow Day(s) this weekend.
