As usual, the pictures did not upload in order. Hannah and a group of friends went to a homeschool prom sponsored by her theatre company so there were quite a few thespians at the prom but it is open to all junior & senior homeschooled students across the state-as long as they register before it's sold out. It did sell out. Since the prom is held on a Friday, it makes it a tad difficult to get ready when you have a 3 1/2 hour rehearsal the same afternoon. So some of the pictures I took during the 45 minutes her director allowed them to take off early to get all extra prettied up (because these girls are beautiful without the hair & makeup done & dresses). Some pics are at the resort as there is a parent reception for the first hour. Some are from the actual night after non-chaperone parents left that I downloaded off her friends' Facebook pages. To be fair, they stole some from me too:)
So Friday morning I curled her hair which held up pretty well after the rehearsal. Her director must have not done a lot of choreography! I had been practicing doing eye shadow (not my forte) from watching videos but thankfully, one of Hannah's friends had her more experienced sister there to help with her makeup & the sister had time do Hannah's so it actually looked good as compared to what I would have done. I touched up a few curls & a few parents took some pics before the kids vanpooled in two vans to the resort. I followed. There's a pic below of Hannah in her van.
We took some more pics of the group at the resort & then more when some more kids who got ready elsewhere joined up so while some pics look the same, there are a few extra kids in them.
Hannah had a blast & was even able to find some food on the fancy buffet that were tasty including oreo cheesecake.
After the prom was over (parents reception was 5:30-6:30) at 11:45, they vanpooled back to our side of town where another mom picked her and a few friends up & ended the fun night with a sleepover. I picked her up on Saturday to hear all about the great night she had with her amazing group of friends. Even though you could bring a date in the traditional meaning of "date", most kids just went solo but as a group. In order to get two of her good friends who are sophomores in, Hannah & another junior invited them as their "dates" so that they could be a part of the fun. She's already looking forward to next year.
