Joshua refused to even go in this area. I'm taking the picture from the other side of the little fence that "protected" us:)
Hannah feeding "Pilgrim" the giraffe.
Here are the pictures from Out of Africa. We had a lot of fun seeing a bunch of animals I can't pronounce or remember the names of along with giraffes, lions, tigers, bears, leopards, zebras, ostriches, snakes, birds, lemurs, hyenas, and a camel. I'm probably forgetting a few more but you get the idea.
The highlight was feeding the giraffe a carrot because that has always been Joshua's favorite animal. He even bought a stuffed giraffe there and named it Pilgrim after the giraffe he fed. The Tiger Splash show was fun to watch too. We also got to see the animals get fed which you usually don't see at a regular zoo.
The hyenas were especially fond of Joshua. No matter where he went along their pen one of them ran after him and stopped to watch him when he stopped. If Joshua hid behind Todd then the hyena would strain his neck to try to see him. It was amusing but I was happy for that fencing! He was probaly the right size for a meal.
The day after that my Mom came for a couple days. That ended our "Spring Break" week. We got back to school this week. Joshua was sick Tuesday, felt better Wednesday, sick again Thursday, and now acting fine again today.
Things we're looking forward to in March are (off the top of my head): Luke Days,Father/Daughter Dance,Art & Poetry Fair, Hoedown at the White Tanks, and St. Patrick's Day Party. Not in that order:)
